National Championship Tournament (04/16-04/18)

Cal Mock Trial’s season is finally over! Our A Team finished off the year with an incredible weekend of competition at Nationals!

Sadly, Cal Mock Trial is saying goodbye to four seniors from our A Team. Shoutout to Gurbir Singh, Jennifer Jones, and Pablo Moraga for four incredible years on Cal Mock Trial, we’ll miss you dearly! A Team Captain Sophie Cloarec is also graduating and so is our wonderful B Team Captain and CMT President Jenny Darlington!! Wishing our seniors all the best in whatever comes next!

ORCS 2-A (03/20-03/21)

CMT’s A Team finished the case of Petrillo v. Martini at ORCS 2-A! They saw some amazing teams and finished with an impressive 10-2 record, winning the tournament’s third bid to NATIONALS!! On top of that, A Team witness Gurbir Singh earned his third All-National witness award! And Pablo Moraga earned one too, as the highest ranked witness at ORCS 2-A! Next stop: Nationals!

ORCS 1-A (03/13-03/14)

Blue Team represented Cal at ORCS 1-A, putting on amazing cases all weekend long! We’re thrilled to announce that Blue Team member Jasmine Kamalnathan won her second All-National witness award as well! Shoutout to Blue Team captains Anagha and Eula for their hard work leading an all-around awesome team this season! GO BEARS!!

Regional 3-D (02/20-02/21)

The fourth and final team that competed at AMTA Regionals was Gold Team!! Not only did Gold finish strong with a 5-3 record, they won CMT’s third bid to ORCS! Shoutout to Gold’s fantastic captains Marianne Sarne and Daniel Sosa for all of their hard work captaining this absolutely amazing team!!

Regionals 3-H (02/20-02/21)

Our final weekend at Regionals is officially over! CMT’s B Team made Cal proud with stellar performances all weekend at Regional 3-H! Not to mention, B Team’s Ravi Patel earned a well-deserved All-Regional attorney award! We also owe a big shoutout to B’s amazing captain and CMT President Jenny Darlington for her amazing work this year!! Go bears!

Regionals 2-F (02/13 - 02/14)

A Team also competed in Regionals this weekend! They finished in 1st place at Regional 2-F with a perfect record of 8-0, a CS of 16.5, and an impressive PD of +123, securing a second bid to ORCS! Another one of CMT’s attorney/witness pairs awarded this weekend as well! Gurbir Singh won a witness award and Rebecca Steinberg won not one but two attorney awards this weekend! We’re also very proud to say that A Team got an honorable mention for SPAMTA!!

This Valentine’s weekend, Blue Team competed at Regionals 2-H! We’re incredibly proud to announce that Blue Team won 2nd place and a bid to ORCS with an outstanding 6-2 record!! On top of that, the ever-powerful attorney/witness pair Akshay Thakur and Jacob Patel won individual awards! Shoutout to Blue Team captains Anagha Chandramouli and Eula Billaut for all of their hard work as well!

Great Chicago Fire Invitational (1/23 - 1/25)

Our A Team had an incredible weekend at UChicago’s Great Chicago Fire Invitational! They took home 1st place in the Coffees division, with a perfect 8-0 record and a CS of 18.5, and they competed in the cross-division championship! Plus, Rebecca Steinberg and Gurbir Singh won individual attorney and witness awards!! Not only that, the A Team also won SPAMTA with the help of the amazing teams they went against this weekend!

Mocktopia V (1/23 - 1/24)

The B Team had lots of success at UC Santa Barbara’s Mocktopia invitational this weekend! Our talented team earned 1st place at the tournament with a perfect record of 8-0!!! Not only that, attorneys Ravi Patel and Rachel Raps won an individual award and an honorable mention, respectively! AMAZING work B Team!!

Commonwealth Classic Invitational Tournament (1/23-1/24)

Cal Mock Trial’s Gold Team competed at UMass Amherst’s Commonwealth Classic this weekend! They saw some great teams, had a fun time, and finished with a 4-4 record! We’re so excited to see how the team does at Regionals in a few weeks! Go bears!!

UCLASSIC 2021 (01/16 - 01/18)

A Team started their 2021 season competing at UCLA’s wonderful UCLASSIC invitational! The team finished 8th overall with a winning record of 5 wins! Attorney Rebecca Steinberg won an individual award, and witness Pablo Moraga left with one as well! Congrats, bears!!

Beach Party 2021 (01/09 - 01/10)

Cal Mock Trial’s Blue and Gold teams kicked off our spring season at UC Irvine’s Beach Party invitational! The teams competed together, going against some of the toughest competition in the nation. CMT finished with a winning record of 9.5-5.5 and fifth place!! Shoutout to Jasmine Kamalnathan for her individual award and to Jacob Patel (16/20 ranks) and Anagha Chandramouli (17/20 ranks) for their witness and attorney honorable mentions, respectively. What a great start to 2021!

2nd Annual Soda City Trials (11/21 - 11/22)

Great American Mock Trial Invitational (11/21 - 11/22)

Three Cal teams finished off the Fall season this weekend! Cal Mock Trial was excited to attend UVA’s GAMTI this year virtually, and left with great results! Cal placed 8th among the best teams in the country, with an impressive record of 7 wins!

2nd Annual Sundown Showdown (11/14 - 11/15)

Two Cal teams attended Arizona State University’s Sundown Showdown this weekend with fantastic results! First, Golden Team and California Team won SPAMTA and SPAMTA runnerup!! Golden Team also finished in 1st place this weekend! California Team had a strong finish as well, with a record of 5 wins! We owe a special congratulations to Daniel Sosa and Marianne Sarne for earning individual awards for their hard work and amazing performances! GO BEARS!

Happy Valley Invitational (10/02 - 10/04)
